This straightforward, in-office sedation is designed to ease discomfort in specific areas or even throughout your child's mouth. To make their visit as comfortable as possible, our pediatric dentists may combine it with other sedation methods.

Local and topical anesthetics are effective in numbing targeted areas. While local anesthetics usually require a simple injection, we also offer topical anesthetics such as numbing gels to ensure your child experiences minimal discomfort. Most children feel nothing from the needle thanks to the topical anesthetic, although they might notice a slight “sting” during the process.

Before administering any local anesthetic, our team will hold a thorough consultation with you to go over your child's medical history, any allergies, and current medications or supplements they may be taking. This important step ensures your child's safety and comfort during their dental treatment.

Once the procedure is over, the numbing effects can last for several hours. However, we provide an option to expedite the effects wearing off if needed. During this time, it’s essential to help your child avoid chewing, as they could unknowingly bite and injure the numb areas of their mouth. Keep a close watch to prevent them from playing with or chewing on their numbed areas. Together, we can ensure your child has a safe and comfortable dental experience.
